Healthy Ways Campaign

CEQ is proud of the Healthy Ways Campaign that is now active in all of our remote stores across North Queensland.

Healthy Ways celebrates the strength and wisdom in traditional practices of First Nations Peoples’ that have supported health and wellbeing for generations. This campaign shines a light on the power of whole foods, drinking water, cooking and eating with family, growing strong kids, active living, and nourishing ourselves from the land and sea.

In our CEQ stores, we’re proud to honour these healthy ways and support our customers to make healthy choices every day — in store, at home, and in community.

Eat from the LAND AND SEA

Our ‘Healthy Ways – old ways are our future ways’ campaign continues in CEQ stores with a new focus on eating from the land and sea.

This theme celebrates traditional food practices, including fishing, gardening, harvesting and hunting, that have kept Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities strong and healthy for generations. These ways provide fresh, nutritious food, support physical activity, and continue connections to land and sea.

In store, this theme comes to life through Healthy End displays featuring fishing and gardening equipment. While CEQ stores provide access to a wide range of foods, we are proud to recognise and promote the importance of these traditional food practices, supporting communities to continue these strong, healthy ways now and into the future.

Keep an eye out for Healthy Ways messages, wobblers and Healthy End displays in your local CEQ store when you shop with us.

Real food, real energy

Throughout May and June, CEQ Healthy Ways campaign focused on “Real food, real energy”.

This message celebrated everyday foods and drinks that help families feel fuller for longer and provide steady energy throughout the day.

By showcasing healthier snack and drink options through Healthy End displays and other in‑store prompts, CEQ aimed to support families to choose foods that fuel strong bodies and minds.

Alongside this positive focus, friendly reminders were placed around the store to remind customers “You’re sweet enough – choose healthy ways” and encourage families to rethink sugary foods and drinks.

Thanks again to our amazing store teams for bringing the Healthy Ways campaign to life in stores!

Old ways are our future ways

Born from many rich conversations with our First Nations team members at CEQ and our customers, the campaign reflects a shared desire to see more promotion of healthier choices in our stores.

When discussing healthy lifestyles, many people spoke proudly of their ancestors and how they lived strong, healthy lives through traditional practices and connections to land, food, and family.

These stories inspired the campaign’s name: Healthy Ways – Old Ways Are Our Future Ways, honouring traditional knowledge of health and bringing it to the heart of our campaign.

Healthy stores commitment

CEQ are working to create healthier store environments and promote health for our customers through a range of actions including refreshing store layouts and strengthening the availability and affordability of healthy products.

Working together with these actions, this campaign aims to highlight these healthy products in store – making healthy ways easier to see and choose.
