Healthy Ways Campaign

CEQ are proud to introduce the Healthy Ways Campaign, launching in our remote stores across North Queensland.

Healthy Ways celebrates the strength and wisdom in traditional practices of First Nations Peoples’ that have supported health and wellbeing for generations.

This campaign shines a light on the power of whole foods, drinking water, cooking and eating with family, growing strong kids, active living, and nourishing ourselves from the land and sea.

In our CEQ stores, we’re proud to honour these healthy ways and support our customers to make healthy choices every day — in store, at home, and in community.

Old ways are our future ways

Born from many rich conversations with our First Nations team members at CEQ and our customers, the campaign reflects a shared desire to see more promotion of healthier choices in our stores.

When discussing healthy lifestyles, many people spoke proudly of their ancestors and how they lived strong, healthy lives through traditional practices and connections to land, food, and family.

These stories inspired the campaign’s name: Healthy Ways – Old Ways Are Our Future Ways, honouring traditional knowledge of health and bringing it to the heart of our campaign.

Healthy stores commitment

CEQ are working to create healthier store environments and promote health for our customers through a range of actions including refreshing store layouts and strengthening the availability and affordability of healthy products.

Working together with these actions, this campaign aims to highlight these healthy products in store – making healthy ways easier to see and choose.

Good food for family

Every 8 weeks, the campaign will spotlight a new health message. We begin with “Good Food for Family”. This message celebrates the power of food to bring people together. When families cook and eat together, it’s more than just a meal — it’s a time to yarn, share stories, and pass down knowledge.

Sharing meals helps everyone slow down and enjoy their food. When we connect with family and share healthy food it helps us stay strong in body, mind, and spirit. Getting kids involved in cooking helps them learn about food, try new things and build skills for a healthy future.

What’s your family food story?

As part of this theme, we’re inviting community members to reflect on their own family food stories.

  • What meals bring your family together?
  • What recipes have been passed down?
  • What does “eating healthy together” look like in your home?

We look forward to celebrating these stories and continuing to highlight healthy ways in our stores.
